5 out of 5 stars Very fast, good value, 19-in-1.   January 3, 2009
Gary in Sun City, AZ (Arizona)
Tried it yesterday for the first time. I suppose the opening slides into the case to protect slots, but maybe not needed. Cord very short but comes with an extension. I am VERY impressed with how FAST this works. Red light on the top lights when in use, not explained in info card. Drivers not needed but for detail are available on-line. Well built.

5 out of 5 stars THIS BABY IS GREAT!!!   January 2, 2009
Anthony Sabbarese (Brooklyn, NY USA)
This baby reads EVERYTHING!!! and it's CHEAP!!!! I depend on the Kingston Technology name when I build or upgrade computers for customers. They've always been the leader in Memory and their customer service is superb. Therefore my choice was based only on the Kinsgston name, and I'm glad I did. I doubt there will be a card that it can't read, and this baby is FAST!!! I really didn't expect it to transfer data to my computer using the USB 2 port this quickly. You can NOT go wrong for this price. It's cheap and it does the job perfectly. BUY IT!!!!

5 out of 5 stars Works for me with OpenBSD 4.4   January 2, 2009
Andrew C
After trouble with a cheapo Neodio Technologies USB writer (spontaneous disconnects on both Ubuntu 8.10 and OpenBSD 4.4), I didn't have too much hope for any multi-card writer. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Kingston FCR-HS219/1 worked fine writing my Kingston Elite Pro 4GB 133X CF cards. (I have version 2.00/97.22 of the writer according to /var/log/messages). I was able to keep a 4G CF card mounted on an OpenBSD 4.4 box for several days without any disconnect problems. The writes are fast, and the device shows up as 4 SCSI devices, so I'm guessing if I had other cards in different slots they'd be visible at the same time.

4 out of 5 stars Good Product   December 29, 2008
Scottie A. Brown
This is a good product as it can handle almost all high capacity card. The only downer for me is that is not compatible with XD cards.

3 out of 5 stars NO xD and shorter cord than pictured   December 26, 2008
Todd Szymczak (Rochester, MI)
This unit does not have a reader for xD so it will not read cards that Olympus and FujiFilm cameras use.

Also, the USB extension is 3', looks longer in the pic.
